Welcome to the Olive Branch Community Church’s (OBCC) virtual Memorial Stone Wall called “These Stones Cry Out.”  Recognizing that it is not always possible to return to the gravesites of loved ones and others who deserved to be honored, and that for some of our ancestors, gravesites may no longer exist, we are offering members and friends of the church to remember them on OBCC’s Memorial Stone Wall.  Stones have been used symbolically for thousands of years to remember the deceased.  In the Old Testament it is written that “these stones are to be a memorial to the people . . . forever.”  (Joshua 4:7)

African-American slaves – known and unknown – suffered the indignities of the slave trade and labored on plantations.  Often Free Blacks and abolitionists– named and unnamed – supported those seeking freedom on the Underground Railroad.  After slavery was legally abolished, many African Americans continued living under inhumane conditions as sharecroppers and under unjust racial segregation laws.

Today, beloved family and friends mean so very much to us when they are alive and are missed dearly when they have departed.  They touch so many lives in such meaningful and marvelous ways.

Please join OBCC in taking the time to remember loved ones and others who deserve to be recognized during Black History Month and throughout the year – on the anniversary of their birth or death, a wedding anniversary, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day, or at any other time by adding that person’s name to the Memorial Stone Wall with your donation of $25 or more to OBCC.  Please identify the name of the person(s) that you would like to recognize on OBCC’s Memorial Stone Wall on the form provided below.

OBCC’s Memorial Stone Wall will be updated periodically to add new names.  All proceeds will be used to maintain the Memorial Stone Wall and for OBCC’s Capital Campaign Fund.  To make your tax-deductible contribution, please click on "Donate Now" and select from the options available for donation (online or mail).
